Christmas garland

These are close-ups up of some of the areas in the garland. I used a $1 garland (15 ft) with pipe cleaners for the thanksgiving one, but for the Christmas one, I found a $2 pine garland (9 ft) at Walmart.  I think I like the pine garland better  - saves me an extra step of adding pipe cleaners, and the garland looks fuller and it's easier to add the sprays and other ornaments.

Christmas Deco Mesh Wreath

This is entirely made of deco mesh and some wired ribbons and garlands. I was going for red and gold color scheme but I didn't like the result, so I ended up adding a few green accents and ornaments.

Almost Christmas

I've been busy with my newest hobby of wreath and garland-making. The thanksgiving ones are my trial pieces, and I've been itching to do christmas ones, but I didn't want to leave them just laying around.  So I kept my thanksgiving decor but started putting up Christmas decorations in a couple of rooms in the house.

Deco mesh garland

A closer look at some areas in the garland...

Closer look...

The formal dining room

Almost set for thanksgiving! Just needs the table setting!

Front door

This is what the front door looks like with the garland and wreath, with some scarecrows from Walmart.

Burlap garland

This time, I did not skip every other tie. I think I like how it turned out better than the first one.

Thanksgiving deco mesh garland

My first attempt at making a deco mesh garland...used a dollar store 9-feet garland, pipe cleaners, brown 21-inch deco mesh, orange 8-inch deco mesh, 6-inch burlap, 2-inch wired ribbon, a few thanksgiving sprays. I followed one instruction on Pinterest that said to skip every other tie. I don't think I'll do this on my next garland. Didn't quite like how the garland turned out. The "poofs" looked uneven.

Burlap and deco mesh wreath

Made using 24-inch work wreath, burlap, deco mesh, wired ribbon and some scarecrows and thanksgiving sprays. I ended up using a lot more material than I had anticipated, but I like the overall result.

Deco mesh wreath

My second attempt at making deco mesh wreath...

Made with 18-inch work wreath, 8-inch deco mesh (brown and orange), 2-inch wired fall ribbon, and some thanksgiving swags.

Living room mantle

The garland is made from left over burlap from the thanksgiving wreath and dollar store felt picks (3 in a pack) and dollar store brown table cover.
